Announcing pixtories - (very) short stories behind your favorite photos

Welcome

What really makes a favorite photo?

That question lies at the heart of pixtories. It won't necessarily be the aesthetic or technical merit, more likely it's the meaning that lies behind the photo. When you took it. Where you took it. Why you took it. And what it makes you remember when you look back at it.

It's these stories that give photos meaning. pixtories aims to uncover these stories behind your favorite photos.

How to take part

Simply send a tweet that includes a link to your image and the story behind it (remember to mention @pixtories in the tweet). Obviously you're limited to around 140 characters so you'll need to choose your words wisely! You can use services like TwitPic or Flickr to get a short URL for your photo.

If you're not on Twitter, you can submit via email to post@pixtories.posterous.com attaching the photo and with the story in the subject line.

Your submission will be uploaded to this site and also tweeted out via @pixtories (follow to get all the updates).

Also, please only submit photos that you have taken yourself. By taking part in pixtories, you warrant that you have the necessary rights for the material and you allow us to post it on this site. There are no current plans to commercialise the site (certainly no ads!) and if any opportunity came up, we'd discuss it with rightsholders.
